Choosing a Photo That Works on a Greeting Card

A greeting photo does not need to be technically perfect to be meaningful. It should be one the recipient likes and that still reads clearly at card size. A crowded group photograph or a very dark image can lose its point when cropped into a small frame.

Choose the crop before adding more decoration

Look at where the face or main subject will sit. A circular crop can cut away people at the edges, while a long message needs its own space. Ask whether the photo is comfortable to share, especially if the greeting may be forwarded beyond the original recipient. Keep private details in the background out of the image.

Messages and examples to adapt

A portrait of two friends with a little room around their faces can work well for a birthday card. A wide group photo may need a different crop.

For an anniversary, a familiar candid picture can feel more personal than a formal image if both people are comfortable sharing it.

Does FestivalWish upload the photo into the animated link?

No. Selected photos stay in the browser for local PNG or MP4 creation. A separate greeting link contains submitted text, design and customization rather than the image file.
